has been infected with the passion of flying from his early age in 1979, he produced an aircraft designed by the engineer Marino Touts based on Rogallo’s wing, called "Leonardino."
With his Leonardino Elvio became one of the pioneers of light aviation in New York, opening the way to future ultra-light as we know them today.
In 1980 he obtained a PPL license in Rome. Between 1985 and 1994 Elvio flew an aircraft he designed and built in his own workshop, the result of experiments or further training.
In 1995 he built, with his friend Franco Tombolillo, an aircraft derived from the famous Storm, and it was in that period that he began to think of adjustable pitch propellers.
The market did not offer much about such propellers for ULM. So, why not build one? The first prototype of a variable pitch propeller, a two-blade electrically operated one was first developed.
The novelty aroused curiosity and enthusiasm among friends and colleagues, and so the propeller was given to some of the most experienced pilots including Franco Martone, Carlos Grisogoni , Angelo Pastore. The military pilots of good experience had the precise task to stress the propeller in order to bring out any eventual issues.
After more than five years of tests all the pilots gave their blessing to the new propeller.
During all these many years, Elvio has been improving his propellers thus arriving to the product as we see it today.
His ultimate product being the hydraulic version, an absolute novelty in the field ultralight.
